by DAWWIH for everyone
You may be lucky to read this, as it is quite possible that this forum may no longer be in existence in a very short space of time.

On Monday, 16 October 2006 7:09:44 PM, I was told via e-mail that MSN Groups Customer Support Staff had been "informed of a Code of Conduct violation within your [my] Group."

What this "violation" might be, I am yet to find out, as of this writing.

The person(s) who "informed" MSN Groups and why they did so, is also currently up in the air.

I was told to delete the following threads:

I am expected to remove these threads (which take up a sizable portion of the forum) to be in "compliance" with MSN Groups' code of conduct.

However, I feel that I already have been in compliance with MSN's code of conduct and am thus appealing the ruling. An investigation should be taking place to examine the content of my forum shortly...presuming that it is not shut down first.

I have already sent a couple of lengthy replies stating my case and am more than willing to provide further replies, if need be.

On Wednesday, 18 October 2006 1:54:13 PM, I was told the following:

"Rest assured that we will evaluate your feedback and we'll take appropriate action depending on the result of our investigation."

I remain optimistic that the investigation will be fruitful and vindicate me of any percieved wrong-doing.

For now, I can only cross my fingers and hope for the best.

That's right, not just individual messages, but whole threads.

This one's place on the list is especially curious, considering what I reveal and examine within the thread. Could it be an attempt to "eliminate the competition" (the names are very similar, afterall - even if my board did come first)?

This one is also odd, considering that it deals with unsubstantiated allegations made against a member of my board (tekton2) and merely provides a direct response to such claims in a non-abusive manner.

"4. If anyone - even if you're not a member of this forum - wants to quote-in-entirety, extract, refer to either members or material of this forum, or copy any material from this forum, then you can do so (that is, except for extracts I've gained permission to reprint and pictures found in the "Pictures" section) - but use citations. Because if you go ahead and do it anyway (or if you do it at all), you are automatically awarding me (and other members of this forum) legal permission to do the same for you. We are allowed a right of reply, after all. If you don't like the rule: then don't do it. Simple."

It seems that despite the intent for discussions of my board to cease on The Highgate Vampire Society forum (THVSF), certain of its members have not been able to fall in line and do so.

Firstly, let's look at the most recent attempt to silence discussion of my forum:
"Do yourself a favour, Greenwych. Ignore him. He is really not worth wasting energy on.

"For now,

"David"

It certainly didn't take long for members (or davidfarrant himself, for that matter) of THVSF to blatantly discard such hypocritical "advice" - as of this writing, the thread (started in honour of my own forum's name) is up to Reply #50. It's most recent posting is dated from "Yesterday".

Greenwych (a former member of this forum) has alone posted seven of these replies.

Surely davidfarrant could stick to his own "advice".

Nup.

He provides another 2 more, while Catherine Fearnley puts in 1 and americanpsycho also puts in 1.

It is highly interesting that this forum proves worthy enough of 50 posts relating to it (and counting), and yet, davidfarrant initially saw fit to delete a link to it, as well as stating that:
"I do not think it is right that this prson should be encouraged to 'feed' off our Board."

Interestingly, despite the admonition against discussing my forum, as well as deleting a link to it, there are clear signs that the contents of my forum are still being viewed (and commented on) by members of THVF:
"The Inquisitive One is a bit taken aback as he ahs found another twin board on MSN called Does a Vampire Walk in Highgate"

...which is, of course, an overt reference to my "Does a Doppelg채nger Walk in Highgate?" thread: http://groups.msn.com/DidaWampyrWalkinHighgate/news.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=73&LastModified=4675593616358258928.

Then there is another post of hers, which is obviously in regard to this very ("Me? Abusive?") thread.
"hahahahahah!

"Oh dear, Inquisitive One has had his hands smacked and told he is in violation of MSN codes OF CONDUCT and he is SURPRISED!!!!!!!!!!!!"

~ (extract). greenwych. Reply #48. "Re: Did a Wampyr walk in Highgate". The Highgate Vampire Society. Oct 18, 2006, 12:50pmhttp://vampiretalk.proboards50.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1159079889&page=4.
Weirdly, she also follows up her previously dismissive statements against me (see the Re: Did a Wampyr walk in Highgate" thread on THVSF and the "To greenwych (HVS Member): A Response" thread on this forum) in the same post with an invite to join her her own forum:
"DONT SAY YOU WERENT WARNED--- JOIN US ON THIS BOARD AND ASK AWAY!"
Now considering the evasiveness that greenwych has been displaying in dealing with questions I have been presenting her with thus far짼, it is also odd, that the same person inviting me to join her forum, is the same one who also accuses me of "harrassing" her, 8 posts previously:
"No doubt that would cut off his bunny contacts but he would be none the worse for that. I expect he'll just run round in a circle on his own board without me to harrass!"
~ (extract). greenwych. Reply #40. "Re: Did a Wampyr walk in Highgate". The Highgate Vampire Society. Oct 7, 2006, 11:46amhttp://vampiretalk.proboards50.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1159079889&page=3.
This "harrassment" charge is especially bizarre if we look back to see who started the "Did a Wampyr walk in Highgate?" thread on THVSF in the first place (and who would later briefly join my forum as well):
"This is a new board on msn, asking the above question--did a vampire walk in highgate?"

...and who has since kept the thread alive:
"It seems to have shut down. Now I wonder why?"

~ greenwych. Reply #50. "Re: Did a Wampyr walk in Highgate". The Highgate Vampire Society. Yesterday at 8:23amhttp://vampiretalk.proboards50.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1159079889&page=4.
If we even examine the dates of posts that have appeared since the last message on Did a Wampyr Walk in Highgate?, then we will see that for someone who is reportedly guilty of "harrassment", it is odd that activity would continue on THVSF thread, "Did a Wampyr walk in Highgate?", while this forum has been dormant.

What is also odd, is that while greenwych was a member of Did a Wampyr Walk in Highgate?, she never saw fit to answer questions while on it, but suddenly expects me to join her forum to answer questions which have - as of present - been avoided anyway.

If I was a more uncouth person, I could tell her to "stick it", but I won't. Instead, I will humbly decline her offer for the time being.

Afterall, I have more important things to worry about at the moment - like the threat of closure by MSN Groups, due to the "violation" - as greenwych laughingly refers to it.

I am still petitioning MSN Groups about it, for the record. My latest response to them was earlier this morning.

I am uncertain of what the outcome will be as yet, and eagerly await a response from their Customer Support Staff.

My reported "violation" is in regards to supposedly revealing "personal information" in the course of the threads covered in Message 1 of this "Me? Abusive?" thread. I have been contesting the accusation, but we are still in discussion and hopefully a satisfactory resolution for all can be worked out.

So, just to correct greenwych's last assumption - no, the forum isn't closed. Yet.

I guess that will give her more fodder for her "Did a Wampyr walk in Highgate?" thread, though. So, by all means, carry on...
